Also called Red Twig Dogwood. Used by some native American tribes for basket weaving and arrow making as well as a smoking mixture (made from the inner bark). Peeled twigs are used as toothbrushes.
The bark/twigs are reddish brown to purple (burgendy) and add color to winter landscape or for season long color indoors. Bring the outdoors in. The intense vivid red stem is especially striking against evergreens. The colorful stems dry very well.
Branches/twigs are $.25 per stem cut to 24". Cut 24-26" stems $.35. Please specify the length you would like.
